BGS vs TAG: Grading Cost and Turnaround (October 2026)

Our PSA vs SGC vs CGC page covers the big three. This page adds the other two graders people ask about: Beckett (BGS) and TAG. Prices are per card, before shipping and insurance. Turnaround times are the graders' own estimates, not guarantees.

TAG (prices confirmed by TAG as of Oct 21, 2026)

Tier	Price/card	Est. turnaround	Notes
Value	$29.95	90 business days	10-card minimum; insurance capped at $250/card; open only while capacity allows
Base	$39.95	60 business days	5-card minimum; $500/card coverage
Standard	$59.95	45 business days	Adds TAG Score; $1,000/card coverage
Priority	$79.95	30 business days	Adds 360° slab video; $1,500/card coverage
Express	$149.95	10 business days	$2,500/card coverage
Premier	$299.95	3–5 business days	DIG+ subscores; $5,000/card coverage

Sources: TAG Help Center (tiers, turnaround, coverage, and Standard-and-up prices), GradingTimes (Value and Base prices, from TAG's pricing page, updated Oct 24), TAG backlog tracker. TAG's Oct 20 update says its old backlog is about 99% cleared and Value just reopened. TAG also says it may pause tiers again if demand outruns capacity.

BGS (Beckett): listed prices, but availability keeps changing

Tier	Listed price/card	Est. turnaround
Base (no subgrades)	$14.95	75+ business days
Base (subgrades)	$17.95	75+ business days
Standard	$34.95	45 business days
Express	$79.95	15 business days
Priority	$124.95	5 business days

Beckett paused new Base and Standard orders on Aug 5, 2026 (Beckett notice). Its website went offline Sept 9. On Sept 15 it reopened submissions through a temporary form (Cardboard Journal), and a Sept 24 check found Base and Standard paused again with a waitlist (CardGrade). We couldn't load beckett.com on Oct 25 to confirm which tiers are open, so check Beckett's site before you ship.

Oct 28 update: Beckett says it restored cert lookup, accounts, the online submission center and pop reports on October 15. Reports since then haven't confirmed whether Base and Standard are open again. Check the tier in Beckett's submission center before you pack cards (CardGrade).

Quick take

Cheapest open slab with a long wait: TAG Value ($29.95, 10-card minimum), or CGC Bulk from the big-three table.
A 5-card TAG Base order costs $199.75 in grading fees before shipping (5 × $39.95).
